I just heard about this recipe for swelling/edema to help with circulation and bring swelling down. The oils needed are ginger, lavender, lemon and geranium.
Take equal parts of each oil and put it in a roller bottle.
Apply to location of swelling and rub it in with an upward motion toward the heart.
Also apply some to the heart area and rub it in a circular motion helping circulation.
I made this blend yesterday and tried it out right away. I can see and feel a difference today :)
Try it out! If you want to get your hands on these oils to try it, message me at theabundantsoul@gmail.com

Testing time!
This time of year brings lots of excitement and stress for the whole family! Spring break, school's almost out, graduation. Don't forget the ever dreaded state testing for the kiddos in school. Although we can't take the state required tests away, we can equip our children with the tools that will help them to do their best during their tests. Using these oils can help our children focus better, feel less anxiety and stress, and do better on their tests.
Balance- put a drop on each foot in the morning before putting socks on. This blend helps get the blood flowing better. It also helps them to feel more grounded and calm. I put this blend on each morning and love how I feel when I get my socks on! I can totally feel the difference in my blood flow! Using balance each morning will help our test takers to feel more calm so that they aren't so anxious about the tests.
InTune- put a little bit on the spine or the back of the neck to help with focus. This blend aids in focused learning; it also helps to ground and uplift. InTune has helped my youngest to stay focused longer in school each day. There are several different sandalwood's in this blend as well as lime. Grounding and uplifting :) Love it! My son calls it his "cologne"
Peppermint- put this on the feet, back of the neck, forehead (not near the eyes), in hands and inhale. Peppermint aids in memory recall. I usually give my boys a few peppermint beadlets to use throughout the day (half a drop size beads that they take internally) as well as a tiny sample size bottle of peppermint so that they can apply it or inhale whenever they feel the need. The smell of peppermint oil is also very uplifting, also aiding in lower stress levels :)
Wild Orange and Lemon- These two combined a certain way, help to create focus and aid in completing tasks. Take a drop of lemon in your left hand, a drop of wild orange in your right hand. Then cross over each hand an apply it to your temples. Lemon from your left hand will go on the right temple. Wild orange in your right hand will go on your left temple. This helps to create balance in the brain. I talked about lemon in the last post that it is the oil of focus. Wild orange is the oil of abundance, it helps to bring out our creative side and helps us to see limitless possibilities :)
These are all amazing oils that we can use on our children each day to help them do their best in school. There are so many others than can also help them do well in school, not just educationally, but to help them with problems they may face during the school year as well. What a blessing it is to have these oils in my home that I can arm my children with the best, most natural form of empowerment. Why take an over the counter drug that makes us like zombies when we have doTERRA :)

FOCUS!!!!
Yesterday, I did a zyto scan on myself. A zyto scan is a biofeedback scan of the body's electrical impulses. The scan reads the impulses in the body and is able to tell what doTERRA products each person needs at the time. Yesterday, I did one on myself. It said that I needed lemon essential oil the most.... I know that lemon is great for a million and a half things, like blood pressure, cleansing in general, circulation, antibacterial, inflammation, detoxing cells including fat cells, etc....
I looked in the emotions book this morning and read about what lemon essential oil does emotionally. As you can tell from the title of this post, lemon helps to focus. Lemon "dispels confusion and bestows clarity". "It counterbalances mental fatigue". Lemon is definitely a great oil to help your kiddos focus in school, or even you to focus during study or reading. It helps the mind to concentrate on completing a task. I know that I have been having a rough time with focusing on completing certain tasks.... I think I'm practicing avoidance too much with packing for our move in the next two weeks. I can't wrap my brain around getting things in order, so I'm avoiding it by doing other "busy" work. I absolutely know why lemon showed up first for me, because I need to focus on completing those tasks. I have had a lot of mental fatigue lately with over thinking, or thinking about so much at one time constantly.
Lemon also helps to release feelings of depression by bringing joyful energy into the heart. The smell of lemon essential oil is a fun, light smell that reminds me of warm summer days drinking lemonade at my great grandma's house watching the breeze blow through the leaves. I can still see those aspens in Grammy's yard, laying under them in the shade and just watching the leaves twinkle in the breeze...the sound of the rustling and the smell of the roses in her yard. All of this memory came from just smelling the lemon essential oil!
What memories or emotions come to you when you smell lemons? Now try doTERRA lemon essential oil! Not only is it powerful in the physical sense, but it is also very powerful in the emotional sense as well!
If you are interested in learning more about the zyto scan or having a scan yourself, message me if you're near any area I travel, I offer discounted prices for doing scans.

Love yourself!
Are you or have you ever had feelings of "I'm not good enough", "I'm a bad person", "I have to be perfect"? I have said these exact words to myself, either out loud or in my mind so many times it's not even funny. We are in fact good enough! We all are GOOD ENOUGH! If our hearts are beating, we are good enough!
I want to share with you an essential oil that will help to foster those feelings of being good enough, being loved that will bring the healing for ourselves. In order to love another fully, we really must love ourselves first! When we love ourselves, we can increase the capacity to love others. They deserve that, so do we!
I am taking some quotes from the book "Emotions and essential oils" by Daniel McDonald. This is an amazing book that highlights each of doTERRA's oils and their emotional healing properties. Each oil can heal on several levels...physically, emotionally and spiritually. Of course, as we heal emotionally, we also heal spiritually and physically and vice versa. If you are at all interested in learning more about the emotional healing that happens with these oils, please message me and we can hook you up with this book!
The oil that I'm talking about today is Bergamot. The oil of Self-Acceptance. Bergamot helps to relieve these negative feelings of not good enouugh, self judgement and low self esteem. It helps to see the need for self acceptance and self love. "Bergamot has a cleansing affect on stagnant feelings and limiting belief systems." We may fear revealing our true thoughts, feelings or self, Bergamot helps to create the movement in our body necessary to bring hope and rewrite that script.
Because of the effects that Bergamot has on these feelings and emotions, it is a wonderful anti-depressant. It restores hope and courage to share "the inner self". As we continue to use bergamot, we gain more confidence in ourselves and can open up more to others.
My son calls Bergamot his "pride juice". It restores a good pride in ourselves, which we all need to have! Please love yourself today! Grab some doTERRA bergamot essential oil and start today to restore your confidence in yourself! You deserve it!

Homemade laundry detergent ahhhh!!!!
The other day, I decided to try my hand at making some homemade laundry detergent. I took one box of borax, one box of arm & hammer washing soda, and 10 drops each of purify, lime and wild orange essential oils. I'm not a flowery kind of girl, so I decided to use the citrus oils for my preffered scent. You can also use lavender for your laundry detergent.
The purify cleanses the laundry and gets rid of the bacteria that causes the smells in laundry. Lime and wild orange create an uplifting clean fresh smell as well as breaking down grease and stains. Try your own homemade laundry detergent today! If you would like to get some of these amazing oils for yourself, contact me at ginacakes06@yahoo.com and I can hook you up :)

Brandon's story
I have shared my son's story on facebook, and would like to have a more permanent home for Brandon's story. Although Brandon's adventure and story have been long and hard up until this last year, his story is still evolving and continuing. We are excited to share his story with everyone and allow others to share his story as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to listen to the recording :)
